I was hiking and photographing in Monument Valley in the silent winter when I was approached by a wild dog. I offered it food, but it only seemed interested in keeping me company. He asserted himself into my image. Afterward he followed me back to the car and ran in front of me wherever I drove, looking back to make sure I was keeping up. he was my Native American guide, A Monumental Dog.
