Community Outreach through Art
I wish you could have seen it. Last week the kids, teachers, and parents paraded through the classrooms at El Granada Elementary to see art on every desk and table. The staff and students were thrilled with art show kits that include watercolor paper and mats. Their enthusiasm was contagious. In the words of one Kindergartener, “We feel like real artists now!"
Here's how it happened. We heard about budget shortfalls in Cabrillo Unified School District and were saddened to learn that the district was unable to provide good art supplies for students.
Something had to be done. So, we voted to provide art supplies to every classroom teacher this year. Every school in the district received additional art supplies via Coastal Arts League and the Student Art Show this year is a combined show with 25 additional artworks from each school, displayed in print racks in the gallery.

All of this is possible because of generous donors like you. When you donate to the Coastal Arts League, you give teachers the tools they need to integrate art activities with instruction.
Thank you so much for supporting this work. A donation of any amount is meaningful, and together, we will be able to continue this project next year and every year. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to us and to the people we serve.

In the words of one of my Kindergarteners, they "feel like a real artist now!" Thank you too to the District VAPA team for the funds for the art closet. I know everyone has loved the watercolors and materials. |
The enthusiasm for the visual and performing arts that you all have

Contagious creativity in the best possible way!
Coastal Arts League has been hosting a high school art show for many years. This year we are expanding our collaboration to include students at all grade levels in Cabrillo Unified School District. See examples from previous high school shows HERE.
Thank you again for the supplies and support. Teachers have been stopping me in the halls, coming in my room afterschool, texting and emailing, all about art, their love for the fabulous mats and their students' experiences! Contagious creativity in the best possible way!
Can't thank you all enough!
