Annual Half Moon Bay High School Student Art Shows
|
Each year CAL invites HMB High School Art Students to display their work, at no cost to the school or students. CAL donates the gallery space for this exhibition of the emerging artists of the next generation.
Art Dept. Chair, Sean Riordan, says the end-of-term exhibition is very important to the high school artists each year. HMB High School offers Sculpture classes as well as an AP Art Studio class. The end-of-term exhibition takes place after the AP Art students have already sent their work to be graded for credit, so these are students who wouldn't often receive recognition for their remarkable work. The exhibition provides students with a real-world gallery experience, and encourages further study in art. The opening reception, when we meet the families, is a popular community event.
