California Land and Sea is an exhibit by the Santa Cruz Oil Painters that explores California’s diverse landscape from an artist’s perspective. This is our home, with its majestic, rugged coastline, quiet, contemplative sloughs, rivers and redwoods, bird sanctuaries, its rich farmland, and breathtaking mountain ranges. Caught in fleeting moments of light is the artist’s relationship, reverence, and respect for nature.
Nineteen artists portray the elegance and beauty of California’s bountiful lands and sea.
Participating artists are Carol Bower, Judy Brock, Jeanne Brubaker, Lorraine Catania, Marnie Dufau, Sue Elliott, Mary Flodin, Coraly Hanson, Michele Hausman, Daryl Hosick, Richard Klevins, Karin Leonard, Laura Manning, Marie Massey, Linda Mitchell, Ann Thiermann, Jean Thomas, Eunice Van de Linden, Sydney Zentall. This is a joyous celebration and release from almost three years of varied degrees of isolation due to COVID restrictions.
Yet again, we experience the healing of nature.
