Susan Carkeek & Karenna Lynn
January 10 - February 6, 2022
As a child of the coast, I grew up with a deep connection to nature. I felt most at home exploring the wildflower fields, combing the beach, or wading in the creek. Some of my earliest memories are spending hours in my inner landscape. It was through meditation, often in nature, that I began to discover the realms of subtle energies. Themes of nature and unseen spiritual energy is seen throughout my work. Through deep listening, or whole body listening, energy can be felt beyond the surface of my work to the deeper layers of codings, signals, and marks. -Karenna Lynn
I care deeply for the Earth, humanity and our future generations. I believe that when art is created with the intention to heal it does so through the transformative power of love. Art is essential to heal the soul of humanity. My intention with this body of work is to ignite a spark of consciousness beyond the temporal.

The show includes media as diverse as the images, with cold wax on panels, oil on canvas, works on paper, hand pulled prints and a book all recording the changing insights and attitudes from this experience...within “Five Minutes of my House”.
We have all pivoted in interesting ways as a result of living in a pandemic. For the last decade and a half my work has focused on the destructive capacity of the “Noise” of contemporary life. The pivot for my art has been the profound and insightful experience of weekly solitary time in the natural world within five minutes of my house. The images include bird nests, birds, water….lots of water…with feathers, bubbles, sea foam and seaweed that I encountered along my way.
